Let’s Talk About Science

I’ve got over a decade of experience in helping students improve with math, science, and test preparation! I’ve heard from hundreds of students that they just can’t do math or science.

And then (this is the best part) I get to watch their face as they learn that they can absolutely learn math or science, that they can improve their SAT score, and that they can follow what’s happening in class.

I’ve watched students go from hating their failing grade to ending a semester with an A, and I’ve enjoyed supporting students across multiple years of STEM teaching. I’d love to talk to you about working with you and your students!

My Approach

Math and science tutoring boils down to a proving the understanding of a concepts by correcting solving problems. I can work with the student on their own material, or share my own to help the student learn to identify

1) What the question needs

2) What equations or ideas can get them to the answer and

3) if they’ve actually answered the question.

As it happens, there are only so many ways to ask a question about genetics, algebra, or thermochemistry, and once the student has processed what they know through the lens of this process, they can often find themselves doing so more easily. This is a great strategy for neurodiverse students, for students with anxiety, and for students who see themselves as being less than able to find solutions on their own.
